The Treasurer is the disbursement officer for the county and is responsible for accurately receipting and maintaining
funds in depositories approved for such purposes. This office receipts tax collections coming in from the tax collector and disburses those funds to the County's schools and cities on a monthly basis.
Any taxpayer who pays a countywide sales
or use tax to Bone county in excess of the tax on the first $2,500.00 of gross receipts from a single transaction may file a claim for a rebate of the excess tax paid. The claim shall be duly verified and accompanied by (a) cash receipts or invoices showing the amount of sales tax charged and (b) proof of payment of the taxes. Forms for the rebate of these taxes are available in the Bone County Treasurer's office.
